The Huaihai Battle Memorial Hall (淮海战役纪念馆), spanning 70,000 square meters with a construction area of 25,600 square meters, stands as a poignant tribute to the historic Huaihai Campaign. At its heart lies the Panorama Hall, an impressive structure with a radius of 25 meters and a height of 28 meters. The memorial hall is dedicated to preserving and commemorating the significant events of the Huaihai Battle during the Chinese Civil War.

The exhibition area within the Huaihai Battle Memorial Hall covers 12,000 square meters, organized into six distinct sections: Preface, Pre-Battle Situation, Battle Implementation, People’s Support, and Commemoration of Martyrs. The comprehensive display features approximately 3,000 artifacts, including relics, photographs, charts, and nine meticulously reconstructed scenes, spanning a total exhibition line of 1,470 meters.

Bus: Take bus 11, 19, 51, 61, or 64 and get off at Houshanwo Stop (侯山窝站).

Metro: The closest metro station to Huaihai Battle Memorial Hall is Huita (淮塔) on line 2 and line 3. After getting out of the station from exit 1, you will be standing at the entrance.

Of particular significance are items from the Huaihai Battle period, including original orders, diaries, maps, weapons, equipment, materials used in support activities, and inscriptions from political leaders.

Noteworthy artifacts include the handwritten telegram draft outlining the operational guidelines for the Huaihai Battle, the radio station used by the General Front Command during the campaign, portraits and personal effects of 86 martyrs, and other precious relics. The memorial hall serves as a custodian of history, preserving the tangible and intangible heritage of the Huaihai Battle period.

At the heart of the memorial hall is the panoramic painting titled “The Huaihai Battle,” a monumental canvas measuring 150 meters in length and 20 meters in height. This masterpiece depicts the three stages of the battle, utilizing realistic artistic techniques to recreate the dynamic scenes of the Huaihai Campaign, showcasing the valor, sacrifice, and historical significance of this pivotal event in Chinese history.
