Highlights of Jianjiang River

Wenfeng Park

Established in 1999, Wenfeng Park is Guizhou’s first open park. Originally covering 85 acres of farmland, it has transformed into a popular leisure spot for Duyun locals. The park is home to the Wenfeng Pagoda, from which it derives its name. According to stone inscriptions at the pagoda’s base, it was first built during the Ming Dynasty in the reign of Emperor Wanli. Initially a five-story wooden pagoda called Wengbita, it was reconstructed as a stone pagoda in the Qing Dynasty, funded by local officials and residents. This seven-story stone pagoda stands 33 meters high with a base diameter of 9.5 meters, making it the only stone pagoda in Guizhou featured in the “Ancient Towers of China” album.

Baizi Bridge

The Baizi Bridge, also known as the Tang Family Bridge, spans the Jianjiang River in the northern part of Duyun. Built by the Tang family, this 140-meter-long, 8-meter-wide, and 11.5-meter-high stone arch bridge exemplifies Duyun’s bridge construction with its seven arches. Its rich history and decorative expansions over the years make it a hallmark of bridge architecture in Duyun.
