Wasservorhang-Höhle in den Huangshuoshu-Wasserfällen
The Water Curtain Cave (水帘洞) is situated at an elevation of 40 to 47 meters behind the Huangguoshu Waterfalls in Anshun, spanning a total length of 134 meters. It stands out as the only natural water curtain cave in the world that penetrates through the waterfall body.
This remarkable cave features six cave windows, five cave halls, three cave springs, and six passageways. Each of the six cave windows is partially obscured by varying thicknesses of water curtains. From within the dimly lit Water Curtain Cave, visitors can peer outward through the flowing water curtains to witness the immense cascade of the waterfall before them, with rainbows shimmering faintly under the sunlight.
Entering the cave via the pathway, visitors find themselves surrounded by cascading water curtains. Looking outward through the crystal-clear waterfalls, they can glimpse the green mountains, lush trees, fellow tourists, and teahouses on the opposite side. This surreal experience feels like being in a fairyland, with an endless fascination as the scene appears and disappears, providing a sense of ethereal beauty. One of the most breathtaking experiences within the Water Curtain Cave is viewing the rainbow over the Xiniu Pool from various cave windows. These rainbows are not only vivid and complete but also dynamic. As long as the weather is clear, visitors can observe them from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and they change and move with your movements.
It can be said that without exploring the Water Curtain Cave, one cannot truly appreciate the magnificence and grandeur of the Huangguoshu Waterfalls.
