Bianjing Park (汴京公园), established in 1962, covers an area of 14.3 hectares, with 1.5 hectares of water area. It stands as the only comprehensive park in Kaifeng City that combines leisure, entertainment, and animal viewing. Thousands of people come to the park for morning exercises, where the sound of traditional Chinese instruments like the huqin fills the air, accompanied by graceful dances and songs during sunrise and sunset.

What sets Bianjing Park apart from others is its prominent feature – the zoo. Located in the northwest part of the park, it is the only zoo in Kaifeng City. The zoo houses over 145 animals of more than 30 species, including tigers, lions, bears, monkeys, sika deer, cranes, swans, and peacocks. Among them, there are 18 individuals of five species listed as Class I protected animals and 67 individuals of nine species listed as Class II protected animals.

In addition to the zoo, Bianjing Park boasts scenic areas planned according to beautiful and mystical legends. The Bibo Pool area features lush flowers and plants, with Han white marble dolphins and elephant sculptures adding to the charm. There are also peony gardens, bonsai gardens, rose gardens, and chrysanthemum gardens, creating a delightful atmosphere with abundant flora.

Bianjing Park is also a haven for children and teenagers, with numerous recreational facilities forming a considerable amusement area. Attractions such as the sky observation car, double flying chair, dragon slide, children’s train, bumper cars, pearl roller coaster, and sea dragon merry-go-round are available. Additionally, various entertainment activities like the “Journey to the West Palace,” horse racing, shooting range, and rock climbing are provided. On weekends, the park echoes with laughter and joy, becoming a paradise for children to play to their heart’s content.

Bianjing Park is located at 252 Bianjing Road, Shunhe Hui District, Kaifeng City, Henan Province. It is situated west of the ancient city wall of Kaifeng. To get there, you can take bus 4, 7, 9, 13, 15, or 28 and get off at Bianjing Park Stop (汴京公园站).
