Highlights of China Dinosaur Park

China Dinosaur Pavilion Area

Situated at the heart of China Dinosaur Park, the China Dinosaur Pavilion’s unique architecture resembles three towering dinosaurs engaged in secret conversations. Inside, the pavilion houses an impressive collection of over 50 types of dinosaur fossils. Some of the most representative fossils include those of the Huaxia Longbird, the gigantic Shandong Dinosuar, and the Xushi Lufeng Dinosaur. The pavilion also offers dramatic performances, 5D motion pictures, a dinosaur do-it-yourself (DIY) experiment area, a heavy machinery parade, and a tropical rainforest-themed amusement park known as “Journey Through the Jurassic” with exciting rides.

Rubra Area

Located in the eastern part of the park, the Rubra area features three thrilling rides: Snow Dragon Roller Coaster, Crazy Fire Dragon Drill, and Big Tidal Wave (summer only). It also includes the Rubra Theater for live performances.

  • Snow Dragon Roller Coaster: A suspended roller coaster with a unique “W”-shaped track that stretches over 90 meters, offering a twisting and turning experience. Within a second of launching, the coaster can reach speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour and tilts upside down at its highest point, which is 15 meters high.
  • Crazy Fire Dragon Drill: This high-altitude swing ride accommodates 40 passengers at a time and can swing up to 44.5 meters in the air. It features rotations, gliding, and a sense of weightlessness. The ride’s structure stands at 27 meters, and its highest swing point is 44.5 meters, with a maximum swing angle of 120 degrees.
  • Big Tidal Wave: An exciting white-water rafting experience that reaches heights of 25 meters and speeds of up to 22 meters per second.

Kooksuk Area

Kooksuk Area, situated in the southwest corner of China Dinosaur Park, offers five thrilling rides: Sky Tower, Hydro Power, Sky Flying to the Sky, Flying Over Dinosaur Mountain, and Dragon God Ancient Tower. It also features the Sea Lion Theater, a 4D special effects cinema, Canyon Patrol, and Magical Theater for live performances.

  • Sky Tower: With a height exceeding 80 meters, the Sky Tower rapidly descends after reaching its zenith.
  • Flying Over Dinosaur Mountain: An indoor roller coaster in a relatively dark setting.
  • Dragon God Ancient Tower: Operated by pulling a rope, this ride allows rapid ascents and descents.

Magical Rainforest Area

The Magical Rainforest Area, located in the northwest corner of China Dinosaur Park, is designed to replicate the tropical rainforest of the Jurassic period. It offers two thrilling rides: Flying Dragon (a 4D roller coaster) and Dinosaur Genetic Research Center, along with one performance, the Stunt Theater.

  • Flying Dragon: Reaching a height of 79 meters and subjecting riders to a 5G gravitational force, this ride can accelerate instantly to 126 kilometers per hour. It combines various coaster elements, including a suspended seat design, and is the third 4D roller coaster globally and the first in China.

Vlog about China Dinosaur Park

Consejos útiles resumidos a partir de reseñas

Raincoats at the Entrance: Don’t buy raincoats at the entrance as they are provided for free during the “Flying over the Jurassic” attraction.

Inaccurate Queue Time Information: The posted queue times inside the park may not be accurate. If the stated wait time is, for example, 100 minutes, the actual wait time may be closer to 50 minutes. Be open to trying the rides if you really want to, as the wait times can be shorter than advertised.

Early Arrival for Fewer Crowds: If possible, arrive early in the morning as the park tends to be less crowded during these hours.

Avoiding Crowds During Jurassic Crossing: The “Jurassic Crossing” attraction can get very crowded during holidays. If you arrive at the opening, there might be a wait of one to two hours. Alternatively, consider queuing in the midday to afternoon, but be prepared for longer wait times, possibly four to five hours.

Patience During Parades: Patience is key during parades. The floats are quite large, and standing further away might offer a clearer view, especially when the area is crowded.

Cool Escape at China Dinosaur Museum: If it’s exceptionally hot, consider a visit to the China Dinosaur Museum. It houses various dinosaur specimens and is mainly cooler inside.

Check Weather Forecast: Check the weather forecast in advance. In case of rain, many attractions might temporarily close for maintenance, leading to delays.

Bring Food and Water: If you’re on a budget, consider bringing your own food and water, as the park’s bottled water can be relatively expensive at 10 yuan each.
