First of all, let me introduce Du Fu who was a famous realist poet in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and was honoured as the ‘Sage of Poetry’ by later generations. Born in 712 A.D., DU Fu had a difficult career and a turbulent life, but he was always concerned about the fate of the country and the sufferings of the people. His poems deeply reflected the social turmoil and hardship of the Tang Dynasty, which is why his poems are called the ‘History of Poetry’. (Refer to the French writer Balzac)
Du Fu Thatched Cottage(More):Firstly, Du Fu’s history and poetry are the soul of the Cao Tang. This is where Du Fu lived when he took refuge and where he wrote many of his classic poems, such as The Song of the Thatched Cottage Broken by the Autumn Wind. Standing in front of the hut, you can feel Du Fu’s weathered state of mind and his deep concern for the people’s suffering. Besides, the beauty and tranquility of the garden is also very attractive. The garden design of the Cao Tang is very poetic, with thatched cottages, streams, bamboo forests and ancient trees, each landscape makes people feel in harmony with nature. What’s more, the cultural atmosphere of the Cao Tang is particularly strong. Not only is it a memorial site for Du Fu, but it also frequently hosts poetry recitals and cultural events, attracting many literature lovers.
Shufeng Yayun (More): has witnessed the rise and fall of a hundred years, and has long been a gathering place for famous Sichuan opera singers, and is a place for folk theatre performances with deep roots in Sichuan.
