The Shennongjia International Ski Resort (神农架国际滑雪场), established in 2004, is situated at an elevation ranging from 2120 to 2380 meters, adjacent to the Shennongjia National Park. Its unique combination of latitude, temperature, humidity, and altitude results in snow quality comparable to that of the European Alps. With minimal wind and fog during the winter season, coupled with a moist and warm climate, the resort boasts an average daytime temperature above 0°C. Experiencing approximately 100 days of snow accumulation annually, it is hailed as one of the “most suitable southern ski destinations.”

Shennongjia International Ski Resort is located in Niuchangping, Hongping Town, Shennongjia Forestry District, Hubei Province. It is situated approximately 28 kilometers away from Muyu Provincial Tourist Resort.

To get there, you can first take a high-speed train to Xingshan Station (兴山站). From Xingshan, a 1.5-hour car ride will transport you to Muyu Town (木鱼镇) in Shennongjia, where you can find many cars and coaches to the resort.

Encompassing an area of 19.17 square kilometers, the Shennongjia International Ski Resort features thirteen trails of varying difficulty levels – beginner, intermediate, and advanced – spanning a total length of over 7000 meters. The resort’s skiing area covers 300,000 square meters, with the maximum vertical drop on a trail reaching 210 meters. Additionally, the resort houses a snowboard park equipped with facilities such as ramps, snow walls, and rails, allowing skiers to showcase advanced aerial maneuvers, flips, and jumps. Specialized freestyle skiing trails, including mogul courses and U-shaped pools, offer enthusiasts a more exhilarating skiing experience.

Beyond traditional skiing activities, the resort offers an array of vibrant snow-related entertainment options, including snow off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, snow banana boats, snow hot air balloons, snow tanks, snow assault boats, snow UFOs, and ice bumper cars. A sprawling 25,000-square-meter free parking lot and an 8,000-square-meter double-deck skiing service hall provide visitors with convenient access to skiing procedures, equipment rental, changing facilities, storage, dining, shopping, and leisure services.
