Highlights of Baishi Mountain
Unique Peaks
Baishi Mountain boasts a unique “double-layered” structure. Its upper part comprises billion-year-old white, nearly horizontal flint banded marble, while the lower section consists of vibrant red granite formed around 140 million years ago due to magma intrusion. This magnificent mountain range is comprised of over 100 peaks, most of which rise sharply and vertically, resembling sharp-edged blades. The elevation differences between these peaks can reach up to 600 meters, creating a breathtaking and rugged landscape. Baishi Mountain is a testament to the geological wonders that have shaped its striking dual-layered terrain over millions of years.
Cloud and Mist
During the summer months, Baishi Mountain experiences a unique meteorological phenomenon where two-thirds of the days are graced with the presence of mist and clouds. This enchanting weather pattern is a result of the mountain’s distinctive natural conditions. At the summit of Baishi Mountain, these clouds and mists gracefully swirl and linger, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. When bathed in sunlight, the peaks within this ethereal sea of clouds resemble sails and ships, evoking a surreal and otherworldly landscape that adds to the mountain’s mystique and allure, making it a captivating destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.
Shipu Valley
Shipu Valley, also known as the “Ten Waterfalls Valley,” is a spectacular granite canyon nestled within the magnificent Baishi Mountain. It originates from the Dragon and Tiger Spring at an elevation of 1400 meters. Over a span of 4000 meters, the crystal-clear stream meanders its way through the rugged mountain terrain. Among its ten enchanting waterfalls, the “Feilong Waterfall” boasts a remarkable drop of 48 meters and spans 3 meters wide, while the “Shuanglong Waterfall” cascades in two stages, plummeting an impressive 60 meters. The valley’s dramatic landscapes and cascading waters make it a natural wonder and a must-see attraction for visitors exploring the beauty of Baishi Mountain.
