Specifically, it is located in the Huairou District, which is about 60 kilometers (37 miles) away from the city center. The lake is nestled at the foot of the Yanshan Mountains, creating a picturesque setting surrounded by natural beauty. To get there, you can choose the following ways:
Bus : Take bus 916 express at Dongzhimen Station (东直门车站), transfer to H64 at Yangjiayuan Stop (杨家园站), and get off at Yanqi Lake. This option takes over 2 hours but only costs 15 RMB.
Express Coach: There are express coaches to Yanqi Lake from Baoli Plaza Hotel (保利大厦酒店) at Dong Sishi Tiao (东四十条) at 8.00 am. This option takes about 1.5 hours and costs 40 RMB. But the coaches only operate on Saturday, Sunday, and other national holidays.
