Itinerary

令人难以置信的是,像乐山这样的小城市竟然拥有三处世界遗产,即乐山大佛、峨眉山和东风堰。但你会发现乐山为何如此迷人而又低调,以其原始的山脉和河流而闻名。

In the morning, your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and your private tour will officially begin. Take a comfortable ride to Leshan. Upon arrival, we will arrange a boat cruise for you to see the best views of the Leshan Giant Buddha, the highlight of your trip. Carved into the red sandstone hillside, this Buddha statue has been guarding the ships sailing below for 1,300 years, including ours now. The secrets of the Giant Buddha will spice up your trip If you look closely, you may notice a white area in the center of the Buddha statue. It actually leads to a hidden room where treasures, grains, sacred objects, and scriptures are stored, which are common in Buddha statues and are needed to "revive" the Buddha statue. Another secret is about the three caves on the shoulder, behind the ear, and behind the mountain. The first two caves are actually connected to form a drainage system to deal with the seepage water from the mountain. Afterwards, let's head to Mount Emei, one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. Upon arrival, we will first visit Baoguo Temple, the center of Buddhist activities here, located at the entrance of the plain at the foot of Mount Emei. If you are interested in ancient Chinese architecture, you can check out the Main Hall inside, which is one of the best-preserved wooden buildings on the south bank of the Yangtze River. For those who love ancient artifacts, visiting the rooms that house ceramics, jades, literature, paintings, metal utensils, and unearthed weapons from the Warring States Period (475-221 BC) is definitely worth your time! After leaving Baoguo Temple, your guide will take you to the hotel and assist you with check-in procedures.

First take a sightseeing bus to Leidongping Station. Then continue on a hike (1.5 kilometers or 0.9 miles, 30 to 40 minutes) that includes climbing some steps to the Jinyin Temple, where the Golden Peak Cable Car will take you up to the Golden Peak of Mount Emei. At 3,077 meters (10,095 feet) above sea level, the Golden Peak is the highest peak of Mount Emei and is home to numerous temples and attractions. Once at the summit, it is a 10-minute walk to the Huazang Temple, which is located in the center of the mountain. Huazang Temple is famous not only because it is the highest temple in China, but also because of the huge ten-faced golden statue of Samantabhadra in front of the temple. The whole scenic area is covered in mist all year round, giving a rare and intense supernatural feeling. After visiting the Golden Peak, your 2-day Chengdu Leshan and Mount Emei tour will come to an end. We will go down the mountain on the same way and take the bus back to the hotel in Chengdu city.
Tips: Due to the limited conditions in the mountain area, you can prepare some snacks for lunch in advance. We will reach such an altitude as the Golden Peak, please make sure in advance that you are physically able to withstand such an environment. If you decide to travel during the snowy months of November to March, it is also recommended that you prepare a pair of non-slip shoes and warm clothes to cope with the icy roads and cold weather.
