Arrive in Chengdu and check in at your hotel. After a brief rest, you could take the kids to visit Wuhou Shrine, a temple dedicated to Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, and other heroes of the Shu Han Kingdom. The children must be amazed by the history of chinese ancient story. Then, you could take your family to stroll through Jinli Ancient Street, one of Chengdu’s most iconic old streets, featuring numerous traditional craft shops, snack stalls, and restaurants. Enjoy authentic Sichuan cuisine such as hot pot and skewers at a nearby restaurant.
Visit Du Fu Thatched Cottage, the former residence of Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu during his stay in Chengdu, and the largest and best-preserved memorial hall dedicated to him in China.
Take a high-speed train to Leshan to visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest stone-carved sitting Buddha in the world. The kids must amazed by this sight. All of you could get a close-up view of the Buddha’s majestic figure and learn about Buddhist culture. Travel to Emei Mountain and check in at your hotel. Let your family relax for a while after the day tour with a hot spring bath at the foot of Emei Mountain.
Explore Emei Mountain, one of China’s Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains, known for its stunning natural beauty and rich Buddhist culture. You could take your kids have a cable car or hike to see the Golden Summit, cloud sea, and sunrise. Taking some family group photo with this could be a nice choice as a memory. Return to Chengdu by high-speed train and enjoy free time in Chengdu or relax at the hotel.
Fly or take high-speed rail to Xi'an. Check into your hotel upon arrival. Visit the Shaanxi History Museum to view its extensive collection of artifacts from China’s ancient civilizations. Explore the Bell and Drum Towers, and stroll through the vibrant streets. Children can learn about the structure and history of ancient Chinese cities. And also could taste the local snacks like Roujiamo (meat) and Liangpi (cold noodles).
Tour the Terracotta Army Museum, one of the world’s greatest archaeological discoveries, featuring thousands of life-sized clay soldiers and horses. The scale and grandeur of the Terracotta Warriors will appeal to children's interests, and engagement can be increased through interactive displays and multimedia exhibits. Visit Huaqing Palace, a historical site known for its beautiful gardens and ancient hot springs. Dinner at a local restaurant, enjoying traditional dishes like Yangrou Paomo (lamb soup with bread).
Continue exploring Xi'an, with options to visit the Ancient City Wall or the Muslim Quarter for unique cultural experiences. Enjoy free time for shopping or exploring other attractions. Maybe you could come to the Datang Hibiscus Garden where is a park themed on the culture of the Tang Dynasty, with a wealth of horticultural and cultural exhibitions, as well as occasional performances and events for children to play while experiencing history.
Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for last-minute shopping or a leisurely breakfast in Xi'an. Transfer to the airport or high-speed rail station for your journey home, concluding your memorable family adventure through Sichuan and Shaanxi.
