Zhulinbao Stone Forest – Ticket, Opening Hours, Location, and Highlights

Zhulinbao Stone Forest (竹林堡石林), situated within the Shuangrufeng Scenic Area in Guizhou Province, is a quintessential example of karst topography, characterized by its petite and charming appearance, distinctive and magical formations, and the unique setting of standalone stone forests. It stands as one of the eight major stone forest landscapes in Guizhou Province. The rocks here primarily belong to the first segment of the Anshun Formation in the Lower Triassic System, exhibiting a complex composition, uneven thickness of rock layers, varying angles of inclination, and well-developed joints. Over time, erosion and dissolution have sculpted a myriad of enchanting rock formations, each with its own unique shape and character.

Covering an area of 16 square kilometers, the stone forest resembles a dense miniature landscape garden adorned with bizarre rock formations, showcasing the wonders of typical karst erosion landscapes and serving as a testament to the ever-changing nature of geological processes. Within this scenic area, visitors can marvel at lifelike stone formations such as “Maiden in Spring,” “Dog Awaiting the Moon,” “Dolphin Gazing at the Sky,” “General Setting Out for War,” “Monk’s Journey to the West,” and “Deep Bond Between Mother and Child,” each evoking vivid imagery and sparking the imagination. Additionally, towering stone columns and peculiar rock formations dot the landscape, creating a captivating and diverse panorama reminiscent of a meticulously crafted bonsai garden, leaving visitors with endless reverie.
